Today after the little one got up from her nap we decorated our Christmas tree. My daughter is two years old so this year she was finally a year when she could help. I inherited some of the ornaments from when I was little and my family decorated our tree each year, so I couldn't help but think if any of the ornaments that we were hanging would end up on a tree when she grows up and has a family. That moment seems so far away but these last two years have flown by so fast I think it will be here before my wife and I know it.
On another note, my daughter is afraid of Santa Claus. Sometimes we forget this fact. When she was acting up today we told her that Santa only gives presents to good little girls. Then we ask her "Don't you want Santa to come and give you presents?" Immediately she says "Nooooo...." and then starts to cry and runs to me. It was quite funny because it was not the response we expected her to have. She'll grow out of this I'm sure just like when she was afraid of when people sang the "Happy Birthday Song" but for now it will be one of those things we'll have to keep in mind over the next few weeks so that we don't get that reaction again.
Tomorrow we are celebrating my brother-in-law's 24th birthday so I'll let you all know how that goes.

My daughter did this today...
Earlier this morning while my wife was at work my 2 year old daughter came up to me and out of the blue looked me in the eyes and said just one single word - "poop". Now she hadn't gone poop so it was very odd that she just said that word out of the blue. Later on this evening my wife, daughter and I were at the mall Christmas shopping and we run into my buddy Jon and tell him what happened this morning. This of course triggers my daughter into saying the word "poop" over and over which Jon and I find very amusing because we are standing in the exit of Wal-mart. My wife then steps in and tells our daughter "We don't say poop." to which my daughter replys and whispers "poop". Jon and I begin to laugh again and I mention that we have the maturity of 12 year olds. The part that really bugged me though was that some lady stood off to the other side and watched us the whole time and gave us a dirty look. Come on lady give us a break. Yeah it might not have been the greatest thing in the world to encourage but at least I'm spending time with my kid. Whatever. Thanks for reading my vent. That will be it for today. My wife and I have the day off together tomorrow. I'll let you all know what we decided to do with this rare occassion tomorrow. Later.

Welcome to my blog!
Thanks for stopping by. I have a lot going on right now so I'll share what's going on with me and more than likely vent about things that come up. Feel free to stop by frequently and leave comments. I'll post a more worthwhile post tomorrow but right now it's off to bed. Peace.
